A probiotic every day keeps the cold and flu away

Think probiotic, Think yogurt! Yogurts and yogurt drinks really boost your digestion and intestinal health. Your immunity gets a shot in the arm with yogurt in your diet every day. Infections takes a backseat with yogurt. A pediatric study reports that children who took a probiotic daily in their diet daily for six months continuously had lesser viral infections.

Regular exercise

Have you ever exercised in your life? If not it's not too late to start.Exercise pays off! The American Journal of medicine took two groups of obese, overweight and post menopausal women and had one group exercise for 45 minutes a day, five days a week, while the other group had it easy. The last three months of the study revealed that the women who had no exercise were susceptible to cold and viral infections three times more than the exercisers. Just do it!

Wash your hands as often as possible

Keep your hands away from your face. Your mouth, eyes and nose are the other vulnerable areas where most germ transmission takes place.Wash with plain soap as  anti-bacterial hand washes can strip protective bacteria from your hands.

No smoking please!

Smoking brings down your immunity and the tissues in your mouth and lungs become weak and prone to infections and you tend to lose your precious working days to sickness.

Cut down on sugar

Refined flour based foods and sugary foods causes a burst of high blood sugar in our body impairing the immune system.Eating plenty of fibre rich foods and cutting down sugary and starchy foods steps up your defence against colds and flu.
