With women taking care of both home and outside their health are getting neglected like never before.   In your twenties when your body is at its best during this time women have a lot of menstrual irregularities, painful periods and there is a tendency to suffer from dysmenorrheal and polycystic ovary syndrome. Since 20-year-olds are just becoming aware of how they look, they tend to suffer from anorexia and bulimia during this time which is the main cause of irregular periods.

 

There are a lot of pressures during this age like the pressure to look good, to do well at work and hence this causes a lot of stress. Sometimes the work pressure is so high that they take up to heavy smoking and drinking which damages their health. A healthy diet and moderate exercise from this age is very important. And if you are having irregular periods or unbearable pain it is better to visit a gynecologist. Some women are careless with their diets in their early twenties, so in their thirties there is a tendency of early onset of osteoarthritis.

 

Thirties is the best stage in a woman’s life because you are completely at peace with yourself. It is better to get pregnant before 35. After 35 not only is conception difficult, but chances of chromosomal abnormalities, gestational diabetes and pregnancy related hyper tension increases. Gall bladder related problems and hypothyroidism also increases during this time and there is tendency to gain weight.  Get your breast examined every year and your sugar test done. You should also get a pelvic test done to rule out all chances of cysts and fibroids from this age onwards. Consume natural sources of calcium and do weight training exercises.

 

Forties is the age of pre menopause so you will be experiencing irregular periods, mood swings and hormonal imbalance. Hot flushes are common and if you have not taken care of yourself when you were in your twenties and thirties chances are there that there will be accumulation of fat and reduction in the flexibility of the joints. Cancer screening is very important at this stage. Get a mammography done along with ultrasound and a gynecological check up. It’s time to start with calcium supplements. Metabolic rate goes down during your forties so cut down on your fat. in take.

 

In your fifties menopause becomes terrible. Your skin along with your vagina dries up. This is the time when women have the tendency to develop ovarian cancer and even breast cancer.  Women are even prone to urinary infection during their forties. Get your Vitamin B12, D and calcium tests done. Continue with calcium suppliments and add a lot of soya to your diet like tofu, soya milk and soya flour.
