What is eating healthy? Well to me it is a well balanced diet. One should be aware of the basics of eating.  There are some food which are loaded with good nutrition and I call them my power food.

 

Egg is the best power food according to me and I cannot do without my breakfast egg. Protein and an array of essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals make eggs a food staple.  You can have it any way you can hard boil them scramble them with little salt, pepper and spring onion or else poach them.

 

Studies show that regular   consumption of walnuts is associated with lowering bad cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Serve toasted walnuts on top of salads or you can add it pasta by grinding it together with basil.

 

Garlic is excellent for keeping your weight under control and it helps to lower blood sugar and blood pressure. You can use raw garlic in salads or add generous amounts in dals, soups, parathas and stews.   

 

Beetroots are loaded with powerful antioxidants, folate, manganese and potassium. You can eat them raw in salads, make soup and juice out of it.
