Ditching carbs is definitely not the solution for long term weight loss. Timing is everything. Eat small meals and space it properly and see the difference for yourself. You need energy for work out and for that carbs are required. They are an important part of healthy balanced diet, but you need to be careful when you are choosing your carbs.

If we cut down on our carbs we are not able to function properly at our work place. We become edgy and irritable and our brain stops working. I guess you must have noticed it with kids that when they are hungry and have not eaten their carbs properly they are low in energy and generally cranky. The same goes for adults too. So carbs are fuels not only for the body, but for the brain too.

But you need to be careful with the amount you are consuming. Too much of it can lead to weight gain. So you need to spread them throughout the day. Five or six small meals are much better for your body. Have complex carbs like wholegrain and brown rice. Stay away from starchy cabs like white bread, white rice, and pasta as they can lead to a rise in the sugar levels.

If you really want that energy to do that one and half hours of power yoga or run on the treadmill for an hour or may be play a game of tennis then you surely need your carbs. Simple carbs, like sugars in fruit juice, and fruits are important after a workout. The best time to have fruit is within one after exercising because that is the time body has the full capacity to absorb the nutrients. Carbs are not bad for health if you stick to complex carbs and eat it at the right time.
