How to be Fit @ Forty

Are you forty? Are you fit? Surely most of us would reply "NO". You may not be able to digest the calories you did a few years ago, you may not find it easy to sprint and catch a train or bus but sure you would agree that middle age brings with it a freedom that the younger generation can't enjoy. You have tasted material success and popularity and they are no more a priority for you.
Now you have moved into your forties and remember your good life has just begun! You have time for few other things also in life, the things that you wanted to do but could not.
 Maybe you can now involve in a good hobby like developing environment awareness among youth, promote healthy eating among children and teens by just opening a facebook page and updating it regularly with practical tips.
You can also connect with your peer group and work out a health and fitness plan which should be your priority now. 
HERE ARE SOME PRACTICAL TIPS!
Re-think on your food habits
*Go for less spicy food and leave out junk food
 *Go for smaller meals
*Include lot of fresh fruits and veggies
*Sundal made with different grams and pulses are ideal
*Avoid curd in the night
*Make sure you eat at least 3-4hrs before you go to sleep, if hunger pangs hit you, have a soup or butter milk or plain milk.
*7-8 hrs of sound sleep is a must.
*Drink 8-12 glasses of water a day
 
 
*Annual medical check up or a check up when you feel its necessary is good.
*Go for a hot oil massage with Gingelly oil for the whole body as it relieves you of stress. The oil an be applied top down generally and in circular motion on the face.  
 
*Have a regular exercise plan like walking for at least 40 minutes a day or a work out in the gym for 1 hour for 5 days a week.
