Jaggery is a widely used and common sweetener used for preparing various dishes in India.It is actually unrefined and non-distilled sugar.


Though the source of sugar and jaggery are the same ,they differ in properties and benefits . Jaggery extracted from palm trees is known as palm jaggery.Benefits of jaggery prepared from sugar cane and palm are similar.


Jaggery is a healthy alternative to white sugar beause of its medicinal benefits.


Some of them are listed below-


*Acts as an effective digestive agent
*Rich in minerals.
*Natural sweetener
*Jaggery is an energizer and releases energy over an extended period of time.
*Jaggery effectively cleanses the stomach, food pipe and intestines.

*2-3 glasses of water
*2 small lemons
*1/2 cup jaggery
*1/2 tsp powdered cardamom
*1tsp-2tsp ground pepper powder according to taste
*1 tsp grated ginger
Pour the water in a bowl . Squeeze juice from lemons. Mix all the ingredients and the lemon juice in water, chill and serve.
