When a patient undergoes any kind of treatment, there are certain medical procedures that need to be performed prior to the treatment. Similarly, there are many post-hospitalization steps that need are taken to monitor the improvement of the patients condition. Some mediclaim policies offer coverage for these procedures too. Apollo Munich Health Insurance Plan offers coverage for both, pre- and post-hospitalization procedures.

Hospitalization is often necessary to avail best quality treatments and regain good health. However, one often needs medical care before and after hospitalization and in today's money-making world, nothing is free. Even a simple thing like asking a doctor your health status 2 days prior your operation costs money. At such times you need a friend to guide you and take some burden off your shoulders. Health Insurance Policies do just that. They enable the insured to undergo all the necessary medical treatments required to stay healthy and fit.

Health Insurance policies are meant secure your financial needs in times of medical exigencies. Pre- and post hospitalization expenses are sometimes included in the mediclaim policy, i.e., the insurance company offers to pay/reimburse the amount spent on various procedures before and after a patient has been hospitalized. Some of the areas covered by pre- and post-hospitalization expenses are:

  • Blood tests

  • Urine tests

  • X-ray

  • CT Scans

  • MRI

  • Medical expenses

  • Doctor consultation fees

The above may vary depending on the terms and conditions of the policy selected. However, in most cases, the above norm is applicable for 30 days prior to hospitalization and 60 days following the same.

Apollo Munich Health Insurance Plans incorporate 30 days pre-hospitalization and 60 days post-hospitalization, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the policy. The insured may receive coverage for expenses incurred upto 60 days prior to hospitalization, and 90 days post-hospitalization, if they have informed Apollo Munich at least 5 days prior to hospitalization (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy).
