Beware of Flesh-Eating Bacteria

As I am into medical service, I received a call from my friend's dad who had a symptom of a blitz on his right ankle and slowly the very next day had a swelling on his leg. When he made a call, I immediately asked about his urine output where he said it was lesser output. He was also reporting fever and nausea.

Being an aged person and had a history of chronic cardiac issues and was non Diabetic, I immediately suggest an MD get consulted. Since it was a small town where he lives, meeting a Senior consultant took half a day. Again delay in diagnosis resulted in a dangerous scenario. 

Slowly his skin started looking like a yellow-tinged carpet from ankle to thigh. His creatinine level shooted to 5.0. also identified his sugar level was 400.

Suspecting the seriousness involved, I strongly recommend them to shift to Multispecialty hospital and he underwent three major skin grafting surgeries and has been diagnosed as Necrotizing fasciitis is a treatable disease. We struggled hard to bring his leg back in shape. Thanks to the team of diabetology, Plastic surgeon, Cardiologist, and Nephrologist. Now he is walking and free from creatinine and diabetic danger ranges.

The plastic surgeon role was awesome where he almost brought back the dead leg in shape.

The reason for the Infection was not found but the illness was cured.

After inquiring him about his food the day before infection, we found that he ate Black chicken and he cleaned a crab.

Then we got this information from our search father that 

This is a very rare infection in India and it is curable when it is identified earlier. Many cases went to the level of amputation.

BUT AMPUTATION CAN BE PREVENTED IF IT IS BEEN TREATED BY A GOOD PLASTIC SURGEON. PROSCASTINATION IN THE DECISION OF TREATMENT IS DANGEROUS!!

People with poor immune systems, non-vegetarians, and chronic disease people are prone to get affected.
