It is time to take extra care when you are going to become a mother. Here are some vital health tips for those very special fist-time mommies.

Take your Vitamins: Remember that you are eating just not for yourself, but also for your baby now. Take all your vitamin tablets regularly, Include lots of vitamin B6, C, omega-3 fatty acids, iron and calcium in your diet for your baby to be fit and healthy.

Exercise in Moderation: Opt for mild exercises or yoga during pregnancy after consulting your doctor. A 15 to 20 minutes of walk will keep you fit. Being pregnant is not equivalent to being sick. Continue with your activities, but in moderation.

Get Good Sleep: Sleep is particularly important for you during these months. Poor sleeping habits can harm your immune system and lead to birth related complications. Hence sound sleep is highly recommended.

Regular check-ups: Never skip your appointments with your gynecologist, come what may. It is important to keep yourself monitored as your doctor will keep you updated on your and your baby’s health. Such check-ups will help in keeping risk factors at bay.

Did you know that colour therapy can work wonders during your pregnancy like orange has a warm and gentle effect. It lifts the spirit of the expectant mother and shoos away depression too. Blue has a more of a calming effect. It helps the mother to stay calm and composed during pregnancy months. Green gives a sense of serene atmosphere. This colour helps in settling down frazzled nerves.
