Time to eat Cereals

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are currently 1.6 billion over weight adults in the world. The number is projected to grow by 40 per cent over the next ten years. In fact obesity rates rose from 10.6 per cent to 12.6 per cent between 1998-99 and 2005-06. So, there is a cause for alarm.

 

You may try hard to enhance your fitness levels and do extra workouts, but if you don’t start your day with a proper nutritious diet, your body will not perform at its best. It is very important to eat right food at the right time. It nourishes your body, energizes you and boosts your immunity. Remember eating healthy breakfast can give an extra edge. Breakfast provides 25 per cent of the total energy and nutrition required by the body. An ideal breakfast should have a good combination of protein, vitamin, carbohydrates and fibre.

 

In today’s busy world we are left with hardly any time to make an elaborate breakfast. So you can start your day with a bowl of cereals which has a lot of health benefits. Whole grain cereals can be cooked quickly, it is easy to digest and it is fat free and nutritious. It can be had with milk or yogurt. Whole grain cereals are high in complex carbohydrates and protein. One cup of cereals has about eight grams of fibre. Since it is rich in fibre, it acts as a natural aid to weight loss. Cereals are free of cholesterol and saturated fat.

 

Cereals are rich in iron and cereals like oats are a rich source of magnesium. After consuming cereals we feel lighter and we are more active and able to perform well. Cereals keep us full for a longer time and increase our concentration and give us a healthier immune system.
