The Female Athlete Triad

Today, menses are the biggest trouble in a girl’s life, especially when she is an athlete, or a dancer, or something like that. It is quite natural for her to go through the female athlete triad, which could be a limiting factor in their life. Here is all about female athlete triad:

Inadequate Nutrition: It means that the body is not getting enough amount of nutrition for a better functioning and performance. Eating calories and healthy fats is very important for a girl to keep her stamina and energy up. A healthy meal is required in regular periods to keep a girl’s body fit.

Amenorrhea: Amenorrhea is defined as a stage where there is an absence of menstrual periods for a long period of time. This could happen when there is a very considerable amount of weight loss and strain to the body. This phenomenon generally happens when the weight of a girl drops steeply. This is also a symbol of malnutrition.

Low Bone Mass: This happens when the body has lower amount of calcium intake than general. For a stronger body, there is a need of stronger bones. Much exercise could cause a drop in the level of calcium in the bones. Athletic girls need right amount of calcium, vitamin D, and estrogen levels to keep their body and bones healthy.

Problems: A female athlete triad could cause a failure in future, as they would cause serious problems, which could even cause serious medical supervision. Igue, fainting could also cause heart problems such as irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness, fatigue to name a few.
