The American Cancer Society Press release says thus

 

1. The phytochemicals found in oats may have cancer-fighting properties.

 

2. Research states that those who eat more oats are less prone to heart diseases, which is currently widespread in India and across the globe.

 

3.  Oats is soluble fiber and slows down the digestion of starch which benefits diabetics.  You can avoid sharp rises in your blood sugar level that follows a meal.

 

4) Oats cancer-fighting properties is attributed to the fact that it reduces toxicity as it attacks certain bile acids.

 

5). Oats being soluble fiber may reduce LDL cholesterol without lowering HDL cholesterol. HDL is good but LDL is bad.

 

6) Oats are a rich source of many nutrients including iron, manganese, magnesium vitamin E, zinc, copper and selenium. Oats are also a rich source of protein.

 

Four ways to make your oat meal yummy


1. Make the oatmeal with skimmed milk instead of water. You get a good dose of calcium and more protein.

 

2. Add sugar substitutes to the oatmeal. It will naturally enrich the taste without adding calories.

 

3. Stir in your favorite-flavored protein powder to it after it's cooked. This adds a good taste plus you get

protein. Adding milk will give you a meal that is high in protein, fiber and calcium!

 

4. Add chopped fruits such as apples, pineapples, banana or any recommended fruit for diabetics like blueberries to the oatmeal.
