Expectant moms experience and increased need for physical affection and sexual satisfaction too. It is important to consult your gynecologist for individual advice on sex during pregnancy.

• As position go, it is safest to avoid the missionary position. If, in the men on top position the pressure is on top of the tummy and f the movement becomes rough with out his realizing it, it can disturb the foetus. Women-on-top position is advisable, or both could be in sitting position, so that there is no pressure on the woman’s abdomen and the movement is gentle.
• It is advisable to avoid intercourse from sixth to the twelfth week of the pregnancy, as it can cause miscarriage. It is also recommended not to indulge in sex during the last two months of pregnancy as well because there is a danger of the amniotic fluid leaking out, causing complications.
• During the fourth to the seventh month of pregnancy, intercourse is allowed unless otherwise advised for medical reasons.
• Sexual acts such as oral and anal sex should be avoided.
• Stay away from sex during pregnancy, if your doctor has advised  against it, if you have a history of premature birth or labour, you have Placenta previa- a condition in which part of the placenta covering the cervix, if your water bag has broken and if you are experiencing bleeding.
• While many women tend to hate their growing bodies, men generally find it erotic and desirable. So just sex talking to each other about your body and sexuality can lead to a fulfilling sex life with your husband.

Pregnancy is a wonderful phase of your life to spend quality time with each other. This is the time to do more of cuddling, hugging kissing and discovering new positions of love making. As a couple, definitely include more relaxing baths, relaxing massages and romantic dinners.
