Oilve oil to dunk warm bread in. Olive oil to drizzle on sizzling pizzas…awwa how I love my olive oil. I love to apply olive oil on my skin too.
The ancient Greek used to bathe with olive oil, using a special scraper to take off the excess. Prophet Muhammad, 1,400 years ago advised his followers to apply olive oil on his head. And on Western shores, olive oil is being used with flair to design all sorts of beauty products- lip balm, shampoos, bath oil, hand lotions, soaps, massage oil, dandruff treatment, etc.
Now the question arises what makes olive oil particularly good for your skin? Its molecular structure, which allows it to penetrate your skin without clogging the pores.
To moisturize dry skin, apply olive oil directly to dry spots and stretch marks. Make a face mark with good quality olive oil and gram flour. Leave it on for five to ten minutes, then rinse off. Try this daily and you will see the difference within no time.
Slather on a generous amount of olive oil before going to bed, put white cotton gloves and go to sleep. Your hands will be softer and smoother in the morning.
Mix a table spoon of olive oil with some other oil like almond or lavender in the night and massage your feet nicely before going to bed. This foot massage will relax you and give you a good night sleep.
