There is a new study that shows how the body mass is involved with problems like haring loss. In a research published in December issue of the American Journal of medicine shows that the BMI, the greater the risk of hearing loss. The increase in the risk of hearing loss is associated with the waist circumference.
The study also speaks that moderate physical activity, like brisk walking for four hour a day, would do enough to save yourself from these risks. Researchers found no advantage due to vigorous exercise though.
Dr. Sharon G. Curhan, the lead author of this study, and also a clinical researcher at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital located in Boston suggested that obesity might compromise with efficient blood flow to the inner ear, which is the reason that leads to hearing problems, and could be cured by doing a little exercise and keeping yourself fit.
Further studies are in process to prove much links between obesity and hearing loss and on the preventive measures.
