For centuries, music has been a solace to thousands of people. Music has had a significant place in millions of lives. Many musicians have impacted the society in a great way. Be it the piano, guitar, violin etc, music has had a great impact on people's lives. Children, youngsters and even old people cherish music as food for their restless minds. Music has a huge impact on children.

 

Children exposed to music for quite a number of years show superior cognitive abilities, which include reading skills. Music can enhance language and literacy skills also. So, the child is sure to fare well in school. A child who receives keyboard instruction as a part of music curriculum does well in vocabulary and verbal sequencing. The child develops in a wide range of academic language skills like decoding and reading comprehension. Music involves multi-sensory skills and the same process is important for development of communication skills. Music tunes our neural response to world around us. The child learns to discipline himself when he practices music. Hours of practice helps in mind coordination.

 

Educationists can use the complex conceptual structure of music and transfer it to other cognitive areas. So, those of you who have children, send them to music classes. It is not a waste of time. It would your child brighter and smarter.
