Many women associate periods with a general sense of discomfort. They experience menstrual cramps, stomach aches and mood swings.

If you also suffer from similar menstrual problems resort to these home remedies listed below for making “those dreadful days” of the month more or less a stress-free period.

Use lavender oil to combat mood swings and crabby behavior associated with menstruation. You can add few drops of lavender oil to your bathing water or burn lavender incense sticks or use a lavender room freshner.

Take 2 small pieces of ginger. Boil these pieces of ginger in a cup full of water. Add half tea spoon of sugar to it. Drinking this concoction will provide relief from painful periods.

Grind few sesame seeds and store it in an air tight bottle. Have a teaspoon of this powder with a cup full of warm water. Have this twice a day. This remedy will help relieve the discomfort and stomach ache associated with menstrual periods.

Apart from the above home remedies, include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Have a balanced diet.
