Whenever I am not working, I find myself quite engrossed with the idea of good health and total control. At times I am a hypochondriac about rheumatoid arthritis, heart attack, cancer and stomach ulcers. But I do come out of these to lend myself into another ongoing mechanics I would call Excess Event. Well what is the meaning of Total Control and Excess Event?

Before I describe that I would like to imagine about going down a hill on a bi-cycle (some day I will write about what happened when my bi-cycle brakes came–off when I as a 12 year old child was scissor cycling down the Gandhi Minar at Hirakud Dam, Burla, Sambalpur) or negotiating a sharp curve on an inclined road in hills (plenty of them in Lahul Spiti, Manali, Shilmla and Jammu-Rajouri). Well, I learned it the hard way that at certain point of time I have to anticipate the next influence of the road on my machine and allow it to correct itself to safe position by providing little control from myself. That means, if I do stern control and do last second maneuvers in turning, breaking or inclining, I am  likely to end in  a disaster. This will be 'EXCESS EVENT'  which has taken place because I carried my efforts too far into situation where actually I should have modified in anticipation of next event. And this anticipation and taking timely action would be 'TOTAL CONTROL.'

Little more about Excess Event. Few years back I found that I am putting on weight. So I decided to cut on my plate size. It all continued well. I started feeling the best. One fine day I felt little pain in knee. And it kept on increasing over the days. I decided to come back to my routine food, including potatoes and meat. Everything was good in a months time. This is an example of not having Total Control and landing myself to Excess Event. That also tells me what a patient is. Who is a patient? Whenever I am thinking of the world around me and how each and everything is trying to preserve it but still fails to do so. Same is with us. Every person wants to have control of his health. Only when a person is unable to take control of himself that he seek advice of another person, sometimes a person qualified in health care. This person then becomes a patient. That means a patient is a person who lends the control upon his health to the care of health care provider. I often felt like becoming a patient by subjecting myself to the advice of so many newer methods, but good that I could avoid them and am trying to take Total Control.

So what are the elements of Total Control?
