Fruits and Vegetables that are Safe to Eat

The root crops like radish, carrot and beetroot are generally safe since they are not grown on a large scale as potatoes. These root crops do not require any regular dose of pesticides. Yam too is a safe vegetable.

 

The coconut is a perfect vegetable. The flesh is filled with vitamins and minerals. The water is 100 per cent naturally sterile. And its ph is alkaline. It can be used in place of milk in case you want to neutralize a very acidic stomach. Some pesticides are used to get rid of beetles which attack coconut trees, but these will never get into the fruit because of its hard shell.

 

When it comes to green vegetables except for cucumber, the entire range of gourd family is not generally sprayed except for cucumber. Most of the gourds like bottle gourd, snake gourd, ridge gourde are grown in the kitchen garden where no expensive chemicals are used. Pumpkin is also a very safe vegetable to eat.

 

Chickoos are also very safe fruits. They do face problems like attack from bats, but that cannot be avoided by spraying chemicals. Pomegranates and jackfruits which are absolutely delicious and you can have it to your heart’s content. No chemicals are used on these fruits.

 

Pineapples are the safest of all the fruits. Pineapple plants are sprayed with chemicals, but this spraying is done at the stage of flowering which is much before the fruit is ready to be eaten. On top of that pineapple has a thick skin which has o be removed properly before it is eaten.
