When you focus constantly on one thing like computer screen or television for several hours a day, your eyes tend to become dry and irritated. This may lead to eye fatigue. The exercises given below help relax the eye muscles and also strengthen your ability to focus.
Method
- While watching television or working on the computer, or even while reading shift your gaze after every 20 minutes and stare at an object that is about 20 feet away from you for about 20 seconds.
- Bring some object like a pen close to your eyes, while still being able to focus on the object clearly. Then focus on an object that is about 10 feet away from you. Repeat this exercise for 3-5 minutes several times throughout the day.
- Roll your eyes in circular motion for several times at regular intervals.
- Cover your eyes with the palms of your hands so that it blocks out the light completely. Do this for 1-3 minutes several times a day. However while doing this never apply undue pressure on your eyes.
