You might have likely to encounter many side-effects of deodorants and body sprays, as they are loaded up with chemicals. Here are some of the harmful contents of a deodorant spray that could make you very very sick:

Aluminum

Aluminum is present in the deodorant sprays in a chloride form, AlCl3. This salt form of the metal acts as a neurotoxin, and could cause a number of nervous issues.

Penetration Enhancers

There are many ingredients like EDTA and glycol, which leads to the penetration of the harmful acid to your body through the pores of skin. They increase the exposure of the other chemicals to your body, which could be harmful to your skin in a long run.

Triclosan

Triclosan is an antibactial agent which is present in the deodorants, and lead to resistant-bacteria, which could not be killed by this chemical. Thus, they leave the deodorant ineffective.

BHT

BHT is a preservative which is linked with nervous system effects and oral diseases. However, this chemical is not found in all deodorants.

Fragrance

Most fragrances added in the deodorants are potentially toxic chemicals. The chemicals used to create the scent of a product are not disclosed in the list of the ingredients. These fragrances could cause allergies and irritation.
