Common wealth Games 2010 Delhi

Common Wealth Games2010 Delhi has brought many infrastructural changes in the city.  Dehli government is doing its best to make this event a huge success. In order to run the event smoothly new venues are being set up. On the eastern bank of Yamuna a village is to be constructed known as the Delhi Game Village in order to accommodate athletes and officials.

Delhi government has made special preparations for this occasion. Transport facilities have been improved as they have introduced DTC buses and AC Metro feeder buses. In order to travel all around the city 5000 new cabs have been added to the local transport. Above this public holiday is declared on 14 October i.e. the closing ceremony of Games. And as far as security is concerned then to monitor any problem special equipments like electronic surveillance, CCTV, X-ray baggage scanner etc are placed on the important locations.

Commonwealth Games venues:
In order to host these events we need various Venues for different games. Below is the list of all the CWG venues.
•    Athletics, lawn bowls, and weight lifting. These sports will be played at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium
•    Hockey is decided to be held at Dhyan Chand National Stadium
•    Archery, cycling, gymnastics, and wresting will be played at Indira Gandhi Arena
•    Venue for Rugby Sevens is Delhi University Sports Complex
•    Netball is decided to be played at Thyagaraj Stadium
•    Badminton and squash will be enjoyed at Siri Forts Sports Complex
•    Shooting is held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range
•    Boxing lovers need to visit Talkatora Stadium
•    Aquatics lovers need to visit SPM Swimming Pool Complex
•    Tennis will be played at RK Khanna Tennis Complex
•    Table Tennis is decided to be held at Yamuna Sports Complex
Jawaharlal Nehru stadium is one of the major venues amongst all the cwg venues as the opening and the closing ceremony will be conducted here only.

For the accommodation of the tourists who will be coming to our country during the games, there are a number of hotels which can serve the purpose.
