Chia seeds are a functional food. Chia seeds is also one of the superfood available and  are  a perfect blend of protein, essential fats, fiber, complex carbohydrates and antioxidants. Native people knew about chia and used it power to get benefited. It helps against cardiovascular diseases and helps in providing heart health essential fatty acids. It helps in controlling blood sugar, glucose swings and helps in controlling phases like hypoglycemia. It also has an ability of reducing sugar cravings as it has soluble fiber which releases its natural unrefined carbohydrate energy into the blood stream. It also helps in improving mental focus and concentration. 

 

As Chia seeds are Gluten free, they can be easily consumed by patients of celiac disease and henceforth can be benefited. They have  a high amount of protein within them and when consumed in adequate amounts, can play an important role in physiological processes of body. They are  arich source of Vitamin B complex, phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc, Boron and Calcium. They have strongly proven antioxidant activity and hence relieves many problems. 

 

Direction for use: Take 1-4 tablespoon daily, they can be consumed raw, sprouted, grounded, cooked or in gel form. They can be used creatively in soups, salads, smoothies or while baking.

 

To prepare chia gel, whisk 1/3 rd cup of chia seeds in 2 cups of water. let it stand for three minutes, whick again. This chia gel can be kept for two weeks under refrigerated conditions.
