Be Happy

All of us begin with a hazy knowledge of who we are. And because of this particular reason we become extremely dependent on external validation and approval. This state of mind is at its peak when we are young adults, when everything we do, say or even think is in order to fit into our peer group or win the approval of those who matter.

The need for external approval follows us into the work place and even our marriage. We choose careers that give us status, money, power or fame so that we can bask in the admiration and envy of others. We marry and then we try to please our new family and we suppress our own emotions. Spiritual practice enables us to go beyond the surface of our mind. This way we can get in touch with our inner feelings and thoughts.

Choose your own path and learn to live in the moment.  As long as we have not come to terms with the contents of our consciousness, as long as there are things to regret or fear, our minds will oscillate between the past and the present. Be aware of your thoughts. Lead your life to the fullest and don’t grief over the past. Focus on the present and live in the moment. When the full focus of your mind is on the present then you feel energetic to live your life to the fullest. A life like that is full of satisfaction, creativity and joy.

Look for happiness within yourself because happiness lies deep within you.Remember nobody can make you happy or sad, the choice is entirely yours. Happiness is also the way we look at life. Be positive in life and choose positive thoughts. The more we surround ourselves with negative people with negative thoughts, the more we will feel depressed and low.
