Why do babies cry? Have you ever thought about it? Crying babies really make me feel sad and as a new mother when my son used to cry it always puzzled me. And this would make me feel all the more helpless and miserable. The first few weeks can be really tiring finding out what makes the child cry?

Hunger is the most common reason for crying newborn. Sometimes mothers feel since the child has fallen asleep taking a feed, he or she is not hungry anymore. It is important for mothers to make sure that the baby takes the feed from both the breasts.

Sometimes when babies are tired and sleepy they show signs by rubbing their eyes and crying. Most of the babies find it difficult to sleep on their own and sometimes they even want a specific environment when they are sleepy. Some babies find it difficult to sleep with people around in a lighted up room.  Take him into a quiet room, switch off th elight, switch on some light music and rock him and put him to bed.

Babies love body contact. They love to be cuddled by their parents and they demand it by crying loudly because that is their only way of expressing. Some newborns are happy in their cot while others love to be on the lap most of the time. Enjoy the moment because it is not going to come back to you again.

Overheating babies is not right because it can lead to cot death. But at the same time the room should not be very cold and at times they may need a blanket too. The room should be between the temperatures of 21degree centigrade to 26 degree centigrade.

Some babies love all the attention. They are fussy and 'high need children'. Even if these babies are taken well care of and get everything on time, yet they cry. They want some change constantly and want to go out of the house. Take a break. Ask for some help from friends and family. Remember the crying phase will go away by six months. Ask your partner to help you out because parenting is a joint effort.
