How many Monday mornings have you started a new workout routine, only to find yourself dozing off by Friday? But friends the truth lies in consistency if you really want to remain fit. The toughest thing about exercising is starting an exercise and sticking on to it. Most people new to exercising quit within one or two months and that’s the reason so many people drop out trying to do too much before they are mentally and physically prepared for it.
Everybody finds it hard to start. The idea of making a change in your life is occurring to you. You find it hard to get started on a regime due to an all –or nothing thinking. You have tried exercising in the past and have not been successful in reducing your weight. So you think, “Why bother when I know I am not going to be able to do it and fail miserably at it. Do a mindset makeover and surround yourself with supportive friends and family members. A positive change in your lifestyle will help you in keeping fit.
Start with small goals, may be ten minutes. Look for a motivated friend with whom you can exercise together. Join a class or gym and do group activities. By seeing the people around you, you will automatically get motivated. Then you will soon be able to figure it out what might work for you.
Now you have reached a stage of preparations. Find a class that is nearby so that you can save up on the travelling time. Get yourself new gym outfits. Keep your child with reliable help or if you are going out for a walk take him also out in a stroller.
Continue to exercise on a regular basis. Initially you will reduce weight faster. Then it is going to slow down. You have successfully made a change and now you will move on to maintenance. When results lead to a plateau then chances are that you may get bored. So make a change in your schedule. Take a Zumba class or a new yoga class. Exercise is not only about weight reduction. My experience says that by exercising you can wash away your worries too!
