Prostatitis, an inflammation of the prostate gland can be bacterial or chronic and may not always be curable. This is caused by the invasion of the E-coli bacteria and may cause extreme pain in perineum, scrotum, lower back and upper thigh region of men. You may experience chills, fever, and persistent joint and groin pain. Bacterial prostatitis is more easily cured by medicines, but chronic non-bacterial prostatitis can only be managed but there is no full cure. Here are a few ways by which you can cure and keep prostatitis at bay.

You could be prone to prostratitis, if you travel long by car, train or air and have to sit for a long time. Besides excess of sexual life could also make you prone to this condition. Stress could also be the reason for painful urination caused by spasms in the muscles and inflammation. You could do yoga and Kegel exercises to relax the abdominal and pelvic muscles and help relieve anxiety and stress. Kegel exercises involving the squeezing and relaxation of the bladder helps to keep the bladder healthy.

Yes, taking hot water baths and sitting in a tub with warm water helps to alleviate the situation. Men facing this problem should ejaculate regularly to relax the pelvic muscles and drain the gland. However you should avoid excess sex activities. It is best that you include a lot of fiber foods in your diet like figs, white onions, cabbage, cucumber and radish to ward off constipation. In addition take a lot of raw fruit juices of oranges, spinach, carrots, beetroots, celery, cucumber, grapefruit, lime and parsley. Avoid alcohol, spices, caffeine, acidic foods, antihistamines, cough syrups, anti diarheals, anti spasmodic and anti depressants.

You may be prescribed oral or injection of antibiotics to control the situation. Besides, quercetin and saw palmetto tablets may be taken for reduction of pain, bacterial infection and for lessening inflammation. Zinc supplements can be taken to build up immunity power, while pygeum tablets can reduce pain while urinating. Alpha-blockers help to relax muscles of the prostate while painkillers help to relieve pain. However excess use of alpha-blockers could lead to lower blood pressure and headaches and painkillers could irritate the stomach lining and cause bleeding too.

To conclude dear friends, please be well informed about the prevention and cure of prostatitis to be able to avoid it and treat it well.
