Let us not forget that besides the medicines you dole out to a patient while treating him, he needs your love and sympathy too. In fact, a few sweet words from the doctor keep the patient in good humour while the pills and potions you administer keep him in good health.

Rudeness breeds hatred and hatred results in loss of goodwill. For a Doctor, goodwill is an essential factor in his professional career. And good will is earned through softness and sympathy. The conduct of a Doctor towards his patient should be such that it makes you steal a corner in his loving heart. This helps to increase the patient’s faith in the doctor, and Faith as you know is a great healer.
