Generally during the summer people prefer to travel to cooler hill stations. It is always better to take a little extra care of your health while travelling.


Before you set out for your picnic make it a point to get a thorough knowledge about the weather at the place you are planning to visit. Pack your bags accordingly. Taking into consideration the weather there it is always better to carry some over the counter medicines, like if you are travelling to cold weathers carry medicines for cold and cough.


While travelling it is likely that changes take place in your daily routine, diet and sleeping pattern. The type and timing of diet both change. Avoid excessive food intake and try to have your meals at the same time. If you have a problem like gasses or indigestion your can try out this home remedy- mix a little juice of ginger and lemon with a little honey and have this mixture at regular intervals.


If the travelling plans involves trekking or walking for long distances it is always advisable to carry a leak proof bottle of oil. If you experience leg or back pain, massaging with the oil followed by hot fomentation will help relieve the pain. Also carry pain-killers. Similarly analgesic sprays can be useful in case of minor sprains.


Many times people who are on some kind of medication are likely to forget taking these medicines while travelling. Missing out few doses can lead to complications and you seriously do not want to spoil your vacation due to some health reasons. Therefore do not miss taking any your recommended medicines.


Water is one of the most important sources of infection. Drink packaged drinking water to avoid contracting any communicable diseases.


It is important to remember that picnics are for refreshing the body and mind. So do not over exert yourself.
