Massage the baby gently with your fingers or palms.

A baby’s skin is very soft. Long nails or jewelry like finger rings or bracelet can accidentally hurt the baby while massaging. Therefore keep your finger nails short and take off all the jewelry before massaging the baby.
Take care that you do not apply oil to the baby’s fingers or palms as children often put their fingers in the mouth or rub their eyes with their fingers and this can cause irritation.
Do not massage the baby just before or after breast feeding. Massage should also be avoided when the baby is ill.
After massaging, wrap the baby in a soft, clean and warm towel and cuddle the baby.
