The Happiness Food

Food is related to brain functioning which in turn is related to happiness. Food helps to focus in life. Food is good for our mood too. Food gives us energy and helps us to control anxiety.


Did you know that egg is a nutritional power house and a great food for the brain? Vitamin B12 which is important for nerve cells is present in eggs. Lack of Vitamin B12 in our diet causes irritability, depression and cognitive decline. Egg is rich in folate and iodine which is required for the functioning of the thyroid glands. Underactive thyroid can lead to weight gain, depression and lethargy.


Butter is another brain food. It has a long list of nutrients which you cannot find in vegetable oil. It is rich in Vitamin A which is good for keeping us in good mood. Butter is also rich In Vitamins D and B12.


Walnuts are again a store house of vitamins including magnesium, copper, iron, manganese, zinc, calcium, Omega 3s, vitamin E and folate and Vitamin B. You can stay it is a store house of multivitamins. Patients with major depression have low level of Vitamin E in their blood. Patients suffering from depression have low level of vitamin E in their blood.


Potatoes eaten in the right way has a lot of nutrition and it is better if you eat the potatoes with its skin. It is rich in folate and iodine which is good for increasing happiness in your life. It helps in the proper functioning of the thyroid gland which in turn keeps you in good mood.


Fish is again an excellent source of happiness. People who consume fish have the lowest rate of depression and are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.


Do not run away from garlic because consuming it may lead to bad breath. Forget the bad breath, just eat it and brush your teeth since it is a good source of chromium, since it helps in regulating the happiness chemical.
