The party season is on and it is virtually impossible to eat healthy during this season. But there are some remedies to keep your tummy under control.

FLAX SEEDS- Not only are they full of essential fatty acids and vitamins, but a tablespoon full of ground flax seeds contains many digestive benefits as well. Since more than 10 % of flax is made of mucilage, it makes a wonderful natural laxative. The insoluble fibre drags toxins and wastes out of your body and keeps the colon clean. Sprinkle it on your breakfast cereal and just toss it into your salads or roll into breads and rotis.

PRUNES- These dried plums are excellent for health as they are chock-full of iron, potassium and vitamin A. They are also enriched with both soluble and insoluble fibre that helps to improve digestion. Prunes are great for treating constipation.

ICE- Anything cold like ice candy, ice cream or ice cubes are great when you feel nauseous. Chilled drinks like lime juice are great when you are feeling giddy.

GREEN TEA- Green tea contains certain compounds that help in the breakdown of food. While Chinese medicines and Ayurveda has been talking about the goodness of green tea, but it is only now that the west has accepted its health benefits. Experts suggest drinking four to five cups of green tea every day to keep the digestive system functioning well. Drink it immediately after meal to aid digestion.

GINGER- If you are feeling gaseous and bloated try ginger. Ginger stimulates the digestive system and is great for people suffering from pregnancy related nausea, motion sickness and even hangovers.
