Hair transplant is a delicate procedure. It is a complex surgical process and the aim of this procedure is to regain the lost looks by transplanting patches of synthetic hair in areas where hair loss has occurred.

Generally after a hair transplant the surgeon recommends a daily hair care routine to ensure a long term success of the procedure.

After the hair transplant, the area of transplant will have a scar tissue. The surgeon will prescribe certain medications for it. This should be followed religiously.

This scar tissue needs to heal. So hard combing of the area of transplant should not be done. While combing utmost care must be taken to prevent any harm to the grafts. This can cause permanent damage to the hair follicle.

People who were previously using a hair piece should not use it for some weeks till the incisions made while transplanting the graft have healed.

Shampooing must be done regularly but delicately. Surgeons recommend daily shampooing to prevent the area from getting infected. This regime also ensures quick healing of the scar. But while shampooing the do not rub the scalp hardly. It is advisable to rinse off the shampoo by pouring water rather than rinsing it off under a shower.

If all the above precautions are followed then it will ensure a long term success of the hair transplant procedure.
