I am sure most of us have heard and seen in advertisements that a sports drink is the ideal nourishement after a workout. However, I just went through an article recently that said that a Cereal with low fat/no fat milk is equally effective. I would like to educate you all about a study that proved it.

A group of cyclists started cycling after a brief warm out and cycled for two hours and felt quite tired and run-out. On the first day this group was offered a wholegrain cereal with milk. On the second day the same group was offered a Sports drink. A study was carried on regarding the relative effects of glycogen replenishment and muscle protein replenishment in both the cases. Both of them provided the same identical results.

So it just made me feel that it is always better to go in for cheap netural fuel replenishment methods than go in for a Sports drink which is not always natural.  Hence I believe it is just in our hands, whether we exercise regularly or are an  amateur athletes to opt for the cost-effective natural way of replenishment of muscle tissue by taking a wholegrain cereal with less/no fat milk and avoid being carried awayby the large-scale advertising of various sports drinks.
