The first step to eliminating allergies or to reduce your exposure to allergens lies in first recognizing what causes the allergies. Most of these allergy disorders take the shape of asthma or hat fever. In such cases the body’s immune system releases antibiotics into the blood stream creating histamines, which show up as allergic symptoms in the eyes, nose, throat, skin, lungs, and even gastrointestinal system to producing allergy symptoms.

The allergens in such cases are allergens from the environment like dust mites, pollen, and pet dander. These allergens are found everywhere and need to be tackled in the proper way. It is good if you can avoid the pollutants that are outside from coming in by keeping the doors and windows of the house closed. It would be a good idea to invest on good screens. It is also vital to clean the air filters and air-conditioners and screens regularly to eliminate dust and pollen.

Avoiding pollen during peak pollen hours can make a lot of difference. It is best to not go out during the early morning hours when pollen is most found in the air. In addition it is not advisable to go out on windy or dry days when pollen can be easily transferred. So if you are allergic to pollen go out in the late afternoon or evening hours only when the weather is cool.

Besides pollen it is best to dust the furniture and also vacuum the indoor regularly. Vacuuming regularly also helps remove fur and other waste materials from pets that could cause allergies. Washing bedding and clothes more often could also help remove dust. Besides if you have a pet it is good to have toilet-trained them and take them regularly out if they are toilet trained. However do make sure you wear a mask and that the vacuum cleaner has a clean air filter.

Make it a rule to hang your clothes indoors after you dry them in a dryer. In summers it may not matter if you hang your clothes indoors as they will dry fast. In addition, drying clothes outdoor can lead to clothes gathering dust mites and pollen and affecting the person who is sensitive to allergies. However you can use the cool evening hours to hang out your clothes when the air is comparatively free of pollen.

However making use of furniture protectors and mattress protectors could help provide a barrier between the mattress and you and dust or mite allergies. Waterproof mattress protectors on children and babies bed helps to eliminate the troublesome growth of mold and protects against allergies.
