Do you really need a surgical facelift to stop your skin from sagging and to prevent wrinkles? Well I think that it is just not required. By eating right foods and keeping your facial contours toned with regular workouts, you can keep age at bay.

Our body and especially our face age because of various reasons. Lack of physical exercises in our daily routine is the primary cause of premature aging. If you lose weight suddenly you tend to get wrinkles around your skin and your skin tends to sag as well. Ultraviolet rays may cause pigmentary changes and freckles. Skin damage results in destruction of collagen and elastin, protein that forms the framework of the skin. This results in loosening of the skin muscles. Harsh weather is another cause of ageing and drying up of the skin. Remember that smoking, drinking and drugs are harmful for the skin.

I have seen that most of our health related problems are connected with the food that we eat. Similar is the case with aging. To slow down aging and to prevent premature aging you need to take a close look at your diet. Caffeine gives rise to loads of free radicals in the body which is bad for the health. Free radicals can damage cells and can even lead to heart diseases and cancer.

High intake of junk food leads to piling of weight and it is zero nutritionally. It prevents the absorption of calcium by the skeletal system, and speeds up demineralization. The presence of harmful chemicals in preservatives also results in premature aging. Alcohol is a neurotoxin which results in the rise of stress level. Stress leads to sagging of skin, premature graying and even hair loss.

Be careful with what you eat because your skin reflects the diet. A balanced diet keeps the skin looking youthful. Sweet potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon, papaya, broccoli and spinach are rich sources of Beta- carotene that accumulates under our skin and prevents it from sun damage. Vitamin B helps to convert calories into energy and enzymes that maintain normal functioning of the skin.
