Eat a Nutritious Diet

Eating junk food, fatty food and other convenience foods results in a feeling of lethargy, tiredness and depression and will dull your complexion. It can cause other serious health hazards too. Experts recommend a balanced diet high in protein and low in fat and carbohydrates and also high in fibre. Add more of green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits to your diet. Add cereals and seeds also to your diet. This change will improve your immunity as well as mental performance. Women should also take a calcium rich diet as they tend to suffer from osteoporosis after menopause.

Drink enough Water

Drinking 7-8 glasses of water cleanses your body, removes all toxins and gives you flawless skin. Avoid aerated drinks and synthetic fruit juices as they are high in sugar. Instead have fresh fruits and fresh juices because they have natural sugar in them. Herbal tea without any added sugar in them is healthiest of all the beverages. Don’t go over bored on tea and coffee. Avoid alcohol completely.

Sleep Well

Sleep for at least seven to eight hours each day. The body gets rested and you feel fresh the next day. Try to curtail late night parties and stay away from coffee and tea. Regularise your sleeping habit. Avoid alcohol before sleeping.

Go for Periodic Dental Check-Ups

Make it a habit to see your dentist every six months or one year to keep a beautiful bright smile. Remember dental hygiene is an important aspect of your general health. Bad oral hygiene can cause gum disease, tooth loss, bad breath. If left untreated, these can cause inflammations in the body. Remember to brush your teeth after every meal.

Exercise Regularly

Include an exercise regime into your life style and be consistent about it because sedentary lifestyle can give you a lot of flab. Physical exercises are anti-aging recipes, so try to exercise for at least thirty minutes every day. Climb stairs, take a long walk, swim, and dance, hit the gym or do aerobics or yoga to stay in shape. Exercise also keeps stress at bay and maintains a check on your weight.

Don’t Stress your self

Remember stress can make you feel tired, increase your blood pressure and give you anxiety and depression. Exercise will help you to distress. Do yoga, meditation and pranayam and see the difference. Play any kind of sports that you enjoy. Go for a walk, indulge in activities that you enjoy, meet friends, listen to music read your favourite book, take a shower or watch a movie. The idea is to just laze around and distress yourself.

Take Care of your Skin

Research indicates that over exposure to sunlight increases the risk of skin cancer. It leads to sun tanning and wrinkles. Use sun screens with good SPF (Sun protection factor). Use a good night cream to keep your skin supple and moist. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water for a glowing skin.

We all know about these steps of good health, but we do not follow them. But remember these small changes in your lifestyle will rev up your metabolism, increase your energy levl and will keep you fit through out your life.
