During the morning hours many of us are too busy washing up, getting our children ready to school, getting their lunch boxes ready, walking a dog or even preparing lunch, the list goes on and on. We are always running against time.

Many of us would not eat breakfast in the fear of gaining weight. After 10-12 hours overnight fast your body needs to replenish its resources to avoid feeling tired and irritable throughout the day. Eating a healthy breakfast helps to restore glucose to your blood which drops while you are asleep. Breakfast supplies enough energy to be active which make you more energized throughout the day. Children who eat breakfast perform better at school, their concentration and focus is improved. You also feel healthy and balanced after eating breakfast as your mood is upbeat.
You must keep in mind that by skipping breakfast you tend to snack more later which means adding on more calories. You may feel lethargic, irritable and cranky in the latter half of the day.
So wake up a little early and prepare yourself a scrumptious healthy breakfast.
Go grab a fruit or vegetable or even a protein component (whole grain cereal) instead of a high calorie cheesy breakfast. For all those weight conscious people the good news is that calories you eat for breakfast are the good calories as they burn more readily throughout the day.
