These days we see ad promotions of several energy drinks. You can easily find them at any shopping mall, cinema hall, games event or concerts. You can even become a fan of these energy drinks on social networking websites like orkut, facebook. These ads are so appealing that the young generation often falls prey to them.

But what the manufacturers of these energy drinks don’t tell you is that their energy drinks can be really unhealthy for you.

Energy drinks often pack in extra vitamins, along with high doses of caffeine. This is supposed to boost your energy and brain power. Therefore many people including teenagers seek that extra kick from energy drinks to stay alert longer and perform better.

But the real question is that, do these drinks really boost your brain?

The makers of these drinks claim their drinks boost energy. But in reality, what they deliver are monster-doses of caffeine. Although they may deliver a temporary boost of energy, they also raise your heart rate. This makes you feel jittery. Too much caffeine can cause stomach aches. Also, having an energy drink daily might fool you into thinking that you can’t function effectively without the energy drink.

These days everyone has a busy and hectic schedule with very little time to rest and sleep. No wonder energy drinks seem to be so appealing!

Drinking such high doses is certainly not worth the possible health risks. Instead get more sleep and exercise. This way you won’t have to depend on chemicals for your energy.
