You are taking your daily dose of calcium, but yet you wonder why your bones are becoming week. So what do you do to increase the calcium absorption in your body? Just saying moo to milk and ending up drinking litres of milk will not help. Strong bones require more than just gulping down milk.

Remember there are a lot of other things that needs to be taken care of to increase the calcium absorption in the body.   Do not cut down on your protein intake. Remember bones are just50 percent protein and 20 per cent calcium. You cannot build bones with just calcium.

Fruits and vegetables supply potassium, another bone essential. And if you are allergic to dairy products then it is essential that you have calcium rich vegetables.  Don’t forget to take your Vitamin D. It is essential for bone health and strengthening the muscles.

Stop the habit of sprinkling salt on anything and everything that you eat. Your body has no way to get rid of sodium without stealing a little calcium along with it.  Do not drink too much soda or add baking soda to food. Exercise regularly because what goes into the mouth is just a part of it. Say no to smoking and drinking. Even if you exercise regularly remember to some extent it is hereditary and you can develop osteoporosis.
