Amino acids are the basic requirements in the age nutritional era. The amino acids are not only required for the growth and development of muscles but some of them are required for metabolism and energy production. The increasing demand of nutrients and nuetracuetical products are increased by the time. Vitamin and minerals are very essential nutrients and they are the basic requirements of the human body, Beside the vitamins and minerals human body requires amino acids and antioxidants etc. However there are 20 amino acids required by human body some of them are synthesized by the body itslef and some of them need to be supplemented in diet. There are some derivatives of these amino acids which increases their efficacy. These derivatives have significant role in human body e.g: L-Arginine, L-Glutamine, L-Carnitine, L-Taurine etc. These derivatives can be found in diet (as some people are vegetarian so it becomes hard to get them in their vegan diet) but in limited amount.

L-Arginine

In the body Arginine changes into nitric oxide (NO). Nitric oxide is a powerful neurotransmitter that helps blood vessels relax and also improves circulation. L-Arginine also stimulates the release of growth hormone, insulin, and other substances in the body.

Sources

The food which are rich in Arginine are red meat, chicken , poultry and dairy products. However body can synthesise Arginine but during the stress it may be externally supplemented.

Benefits

  • Improves cardiovascular system
  • Neurotransmitter
  • Growth hormone
  • Muscles Growth

L-Glutamine

Glutamine is an aminoacid derived from the glutamic acid. It is synthesized in the body but during the stress it may be externally supplemented.

Sources

The dietary source of glutamine is chicken and beef, so it is hard for vegans to meet their requirement in that situation it may be externally supplemented.

Benefits

  • Builds immunity
  • Improves gut function
  • Helps to counteract oxidative stress
  • Growth and development of muscles

L-Carnitine

It is an aminoacid found in muscles. This is required for the production of energy by using fats as fuels. It decreases the cholesterol levels.

Sources

It is synthesized in the body but their dietary source is meat and poultry products, tgus for vegans it may be supplemented externally.

Benefits

  • Healthy muscles
  • Lowers cholesterol and fat level
  • Healthy cardiovascular system

L-Taurine

It is an aminoacid gound in the tissues and in the blood in small amounts. The function of this aminoacid is unique because It prevents the deposition of extra minerals in the body. Its highly acidic nature prevent kidney disorders. It removes and decomposes the extra calcium and other minerals qhich may form stones in the kidney.

Sources

Taurin is rarely synthesized in the body specially when you are consuming protein powders. How ever it is readly available in meat and poultry products.

Benefits

  • Required for kidney health
  • Metabolism

The above mentioned aminoacids are very essential for human consumption specially in deficiency. Taurin and Carnitine are used in the protein powders specially to pevent the formation of kidney stones. Because if the externally supplemented minerals are not consumed by the body then they start to forming a clump later resulting in stones. However these amino acids are synthesized by the body but during stress( Metabolic Stress) it becomes difficult for the body to make. Metabolic stress is the condition in which the metabolic rate is decreased below the requirement level of the body.
