5 Fitness Goals To Kick Start 2019

How many 2019 goals  have you listed down? Does your list looks something like:

  1. Lose weight
  2. Wear that slim fit dress
  3. Wear high heels more often
  4. Buy high brand cosmetics
  5. To be on a magazine cover

How about ‘Be Healthy with fitness goals’ tops the list!  Wise quote of 21st century must say, “To enjoy your wealth, good must be your health.”

Don’t you think we are dependent on medicines and supplements to be in a state of so-called ‘health’? Many of us set goals for academic and career-oriented. How many times we have seriously listed down our fitness goals? Few or none at all!

You must have heard more than a decade old advice, “Eat an apple on going to bed, and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread”.

So buckle yourself! Let’s set few fitness goals in 2019.

1. Keep your heart healthy

What will keep your blood pressure in check, normal cholesterol levels and decrease the chance of any heart disease? Take a daily walk or jog, swim if you don’t like walking and/or skipping which increases heart rate. These activities are required for improving circulation and act as workout for lungs.

Your fitness goal in 2019 must look like:

30 minutes of running 3 to 4 times a week, 20 minutes of brisk walking 4 days per week, skipping for 15 minutes 3 times per week.

2. Improve muscle strength

Strengthening exercises improves muscle tone, strength, intensifies metabolism and enhances endurance. These exercises need not be done on daily basis but twice a week is what you need. 15 to 20 repetitions of any kind of muscle exercise are good. These activities will take up just about 30 minutes in a day. So why not list down the goal for 2019?

3. Flexibility is what you need

Yoga, tai chi or pilates improves the flexibility of movement. This is great for reducing stiffness and joint pain and even for preventing it. Set the goal for three to four times per week for 30 minutes of flexibility exercises. Best results come if you perform them early in morning.

4. Cut the processed foods

Though readily available in supermarkets they attack your vital organs rapidly. Why not work a bit hard to cook food freshly available? Try cutting these foods for at least a week or a month and note down the change. This fitness goal will bring down the rate of obesity.

5. Work smart

Always set goals which are achievable. It is not smart to aim for running 5 miles each day, though it sounds rich but may not be achieved. Instead make goals like: 25 push-ups per day, walking for 30 minutes 4 times per week and so on. Timing the goals attain more success.
