Atherosclerosis is the technical word used to refer clogged arteries. Arteries get hardened due to the formation of plaque on the inside walls of the arteries. This makes the arteries narrow. The plaques typically consist of inflammatory cells, fat, LDL cholesterol, and other materials considered as waste. The hardening of the plaque will gradually prevent the blood circulation. This adds strain to the muscles of the heart. Finally leading to high blood pressure and many heart ailments.

There are easy ways to unclog the arteries by choosing the right food. Let us present the best food that can help to unclog arteries.

Walnuts

Walnuts are considered the best when we talk about unclogging arteries. Regular consumption of walnuts keeps the arteries elastic. Apart from reducing the inflammation in the arteries walnuts also makes them elastic and allowing them to contract and expand easily. Thus clogs are not formed and blood is distributed across the body.  Walnuts are rich in omega 3 fatty acids and they increase the HDL by keeping LDL at bay.

Garlic

Garlic has the required nutrients that can keep blood pressure under control. Reduces cholesterol and permanently removes the clots.  Peel and crush 15 garlic cloves and boil with 1 liter of drinking water. Once it is warm, squeeze juice from 3 lemons and mix with this solution. Filter and drink it regularly for enjoying the maximum benefit of garlic.

Leafy Vegetables

Leafy vegetables are a rich source of Vitamin B. Increased consumption of leafy vegetables decreases the production of an amino acid called homocysteine. This will improve the good cholesterol in blood and arrests the artery clogging problem from the root.

Pomegranate Juice

Antioxidants present in the pomegranate juice helps to lower the bad cholesterol. Especially the Vitamin C and Polyphenols prevents the formation of arterial plaques. It is important to remember that fresh homemade pomegranate juice with honey is beneficial and not the juice that is loaded with sugar.

Fiber and Whole Grains

Fiber acts as a vacuum cleaner in cleaning the plaque from the arteries.  Intake of whole grains including wheat, barley, oats and brown rice can aid blood circulation thereby removing the clogs in the arteries.

Hawthorn

Hawthorn is a herb that stimulates the heart and relaxes the blood vessels to streamline the blood circulation. This will lead to strengthening the heart muscles and thus it becomes difficult to the clogs to be formed. Consuming the extract from this herb is proved to reduce the shortness of breath and eliminates fatigue.

Cayenne Pepper
