When I came to south africa I knew nothing about HIV/ AIDS as I always worked and stayed in affluent Muslim middle east countries. I was very nervous to deal with this patients . I arrived here in 2008 and started working in a dist. hospital and started looking after HIV/ AIDSclinic in a rural area. Now it has become an spot diagnosis to me. I do enjoy my experience in management of these patients. every ear 6 million people are loosing life and children are dying before the age of five due to this disease . If only I can contribute to this great task of preventing and treating HIV/ AIDS. It will need peseverence and hard work and motivation to the people to eliminate this disease from womb to toombs . Social enigmas , taboos , beliefs , and the mis use of human rights ect. there are many things to debate , motivate and practice in true sense. Scientifically the disease process is spreading without limitation the mutation of the virus its changing genetic code and multiplication of viruses to the uncontrolable genetic codes. science sometime fails to control this disease unless the social background and living conditions are changed totally. Conscience and social responsibility towards society is to be motivated before treating the disease why not to prevent it!

Very well written piece. Keep writing about your experience in Africa. Will be very valuable to young doctors and paramedics who wish to work in this field. Thank you
