Oranges are the most loved and popular fruits today. It is an excellent source of Vitamin C . This citrus packed fruit is a perfect solution if you are trying to shed those extra kilos. Orange contains pectin, a unique dietary fibre that makes you feel fuller. They also contain natural sugar that helps to curb your craving for sugar.

 

The skin of an orange is also high in vitamin C. You can garnish your vegetables and soups with grated orange peel to get maximum benefits. You can also use orange essential oil which is made from orange peels. The oil gives quick and effective relief from inflammation both internal and external- cased by fever, infections, side effects of antibiotics, gas, ingestion of toxic substances, narcotics etc.

 

It also works as anti-depressant and is widely used in aromatherapy as it is a mood lifter and leaves you with a flexed feeling. One single orange provides your body with 12.5 per cent of the daily value for fibre, which helps to reduce high cholesterol levels thus helping to prevent atherosclerosis. Vitamin C protects the collagen, which provides support and elasticity to our skin, thus delaying the onset of wrinkles. Oranges helps to increase efficiency of the immune system. They help in preventing diseases like cancer, plaque, clot formation in the heart., and other inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and even cough and cold. Oranges are good for people suffering from diabetics. The high concentration of fibre keeps blood sugar levels under control. But a diabetic person must eat the fruit rather than having orange juice. Oranges are rich in Vitamin B6, which helps the production of hemoglobin in the body. Oranges are rich in potassium and hence it helps in balancing the electrolyte balance in the cells. Orange juice contains Folate which plays a major role in the reproduction of new cells and helps with the healing process of wounds.
