Fitness Secrets for 40-plus women

The new age forty plus women are definitely not desperate to look young. In fact they are much more stylish than their younger counterparts. They are sensible and know where to draw the line. They are fit and they take good care of themselves.

 

Christy Turlington, American model is an avid yoga practitioner. She discovered yoga at the age of 18. Even today the svelte mother of two does as much yoga as she can. When she was pregnant during that time also she practiced yoga thrice a week and Pilates once a week. She confesses that she loves the discipline of exercise routine.  Meghna Mohan, a yoga instructor by profession says, “Fitness is a very important part of our life and yoga can bring a person closer to herself. It helps in staying fit both from within and outside. It also keeps you grounded to your own spiritual belief.

 

Did you know that Jennifer Aniston too practices Hatha yoga? It is great for toning and slimming down as well as improving your flexibility. Back home Madhuri Dixit, undoubtedly looks hot and sizzling even in her mid 40s. Her strict fitness regime has helped her stay fit. Madhuri works out for an hour every day where ever she is, five times a day even when she is travelling. On very busy days she runs on the treadmill for twenty minutes.

 

Remember aging is not a burden; it is in fact a beautiful experience. And it should not make you less happy. Enjoy every moment of aging with a positive mind. Remember it is only in your forties that life takes a pleasant turn because you are then not bogged down with responsibilities of raising your kids, buying a house, car, career and you are not trying hard to please anybody. So, enjoy your forties to the fullest and stay fit and happy!
