Clinical studies have proved that 65% cases suffering from hair loss are women. This means that hair loss is more severe in women as compared to men.

Women have to experience hair loss problems due to several reasons.

PREGNANCY- Pregnancy is one of the most common reasons why women suffer from hair loss. Usually, it takes few months before women notice that they are experiencing hair loss. This hair loss is because of the hormones during pregnancy. When these hormones return back to its normal level, the hair fall ceases.

MEDICINES- Another cause of hair loss is due to the side effects of certain medicines. Some medicines that can cause hair loss are the anticoagulants, medicines for gout problems that lower blood pressure, medicines for heart diseases, some oral contraceptives, antidepressants, and excessive intake of Vitamin A.

DISEASES- Sometimes, hair loss may occur because of certain diseases like SLE or diabetes. Hair loss may be the sign of a disease.

STRESS- Hair loss can also be a result of too much stress and work pressure. Stress could be physical or psychological. Worrying too much of problems may cause hair loss. Instead rest for a while and relax.

HORMONAL IMBALANCE- Hair loss may occur if your thyroid gland is functioning improperly (hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism). Loss of hair occurs due to imbalance of hormones like estrogens and androgens.

IMPROPER HAIR CARE- Improper care of the hair also causes hair loss. Using tight hair accessories may result in hair loss. Combing the hair while they are wet also leads to breaking of hair and hair loss. Similarly repeated exposure to hair treatments like hair coloring, hair perming, hair re-bonding or hair straightening may cause hair loss.
