If you want to keep your brain cells ticking, it is important that you include the following brain food in the diet.  So it is time to include fishes in the diet.  It is the Omega 3 fatty acids that are important for the brains.  A study in America found that eating fish once a week lowered the risk of developing Alzhemier by 60 per cent.

Green vegetables are full of antioxidants that prevent free radicals. So go for green vegetables like spinach, broccoli, and lettuce. Stabilize the sugar in the diet by avoiding refined carbohydrates like white rice and bread. Go for whole wheat bread, brown rice and oats.

Vitamin E present in nuts is important to keep the brain cells young. It protects the nerve cells in the brains. Choose healthy vegetable oils and eat a handful of almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts or peanuts, flax seeds and sesame seeds.

A memory boosting plant chemicals called anthocyanin can be found in all types of berries, as well as aborigine, beetroot, red apples and Chinese cabbage. Blue berries and strawberries are good for the brain.

Avocado which is rich in Vitamin E is good for the heart and what is good for the heart is also good for the head. Red wine is also considered to be good for the brain. The darker the red the better it is.
