Rural School Eye Health Program of Eye Infirmary, Nabha

Eye Infirmary, Nabha conducted the first of its Rural School Eye Health Program in a remote village of Nabha at Government Primary School, Rampur Chhana on July 27, 2007. The school has children in classes First, through to the Fifth. 126 children were subjected to a thorough eye examination, which included (in the order elaborated) -

  • Testing of Visual Acuity
  • General Eye Check up for
    • any squint,
    • ailments of the anterior segment,
    • colour vision testing &
    • direct ophthalmoscopy.
  • Refraction on an Autorefractometer
  • Retinoscopy &
  • Subjective Vision Testing.

     

 

General Eye Check up for any squint

Free medical aid was provided to all requiring it.

Free spectacles were provided to 16 children having refractive errors.

This program envisages covering at least two schools every month and God willing, shall be continued indefinitely.
